The 2023 election campaign is trucking right along, with new ideas discussed, information revealed and promises made every day. Tuesday’s surrogate debate saw some interesting ideas from all campaigns, and some candidates stood out among others. Here are the current rankings for candidate teams based on their representatives’ performance in the surrogate debate, from best to worst.
Starting off at the top is candidate Caroline Dunk. It is clear Caroline’s campaign team is well-prepared for the rest of this election, because the responses that were delivered by her representative were well-thought out, respectful, and formal, which is more than can be said for at least two candidates at the moment. But that will be reviewed later in this article.
Some interesting points Caroline’s campaign made during the debate were supporting more government involvement in education, especially helping low-income families, limiting social media reach out to minors during the campaign, and redirecting the large and unnecessary military budget to healthcare and housing needs. And as the only all-female campaign team, Caroline Dunk’s committee is constantly, as her representative put it, “breaking barriers.”
Next is Landon Brandon. It is clear that Brandon’s team is just as prepared for the next debate, despite their bland Highlights Presentation and their subpar social media presence. But like fellow Democratic candidate Dunk, Brandon’s representative put a lot of emphasis on equality for all Americans in education, and noted that they are the only scandal-free campaign as of to date. So while facing some shortcomings in other areas, it is clear that Landon Brandon has retained popularity and is prepared to continue making great strides.
Next is Zach Power. Like Brandon and Dunk, Power’s representative put on a brave face during the debate, but it felt like his responses were derivative compared to the other candidates. Also, it is worth noting that his team was absent at the Highlights Presentation, for reasons he stated as “helping low-income families in D.C.” Strangely, he had nothing else to say about supporting families in poverty, and instead focused on raising taxes on big businesses and wealthy elites, so that money could go to important, underfunded programs. So while Power’s team did their best, their ideas and responses didn’t really resonate with the audience.
The last two candidates are Harry Hosselhof and Jonah Nazareth. They are in the same ranking for two reasons: neither of them did well in the debate and both of them have publicly attacked The Language Post. During the debate, Hosselhof and Nazareth were disrespectful to other candidates, frequently interrupting them and whispering phrases like “communist” and “pathetic” during others’ responses. And when asked about the importance of freedom of the press in America, Hosselhof responded by declaring that The Language Post should be banned from social media for posting fake news, and all fake news websites across the country should subsequently be banned.
Now, to attack not only The Language Post itself, the biggest source of facts during this election, but all other forms of free media across this great country, is just asinine and absurd. Our team works hard every day to bring the finest stories to you, and to keep you up to date with the happenings of the most important election right now in America. So on behalf of The Language Post as a whole, we are the divine arbiters of the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, and we will continue to act in the best interests of the people, and maintain the integrity of journalism.
