The Highlight Presentation on Friday the 13th was a chance for candidates to showcase their best moments. But did the bad luck get to some politicians?
Starting with the obvious, Zach Power and his campaign team couldn’t even make it to the presentation. Given their simply lackluster performance thus far, voters are understandably hesitant to back him. The latest poll has him with the lowest amount of support, a measly eleven out of eighty-four votes.
Despite Caroline Dunk’s good impression on the voters, some had questions about her concrete policies. They said she wasn’t clear, and even asked if she had any plans for once she became president. It appears that a strong speech and slideshow simply aren’t enough. She is polled as having sixteen electoral votes.
Harry Hosslehoff came next in the rankings, pulling thirty-five electoral votes. While it doesn’t seem like the voters thought he had a particularly strong presentation, including those who accused him of attacking other candidates and those who want him to be clearer on his policy, none had any questions for him. It’s possible that less is more in this campaign.
The top two candidates are Landon Brandon and Jonah Nazareth. They also seem to be some of our most controversial candidates. Voters voiced reservations over Brandon’s vague policies and past inaction. Nazareth seems to have the opposite problem, where voters are concerned about his loud religious ideals.
It remains to be seen which candidate will be able to perfect their campaign and win over the voters. Perhaps the Social Hour today will let them work the room and earn some extra points. Every vote counts!
